Nadine Bachour
Biography
Nadine is a motivated and enthusiastic educator with 25+ years of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), English for Academic Purposes (EAP), and IELTS preparation to diverse groups of learners. Her expertise also includes interpreting, translating, conducting research, and professional communication.
Her career includes roles such as ESL, EAP, and IELTS instructor; LINC technician; freelance translator; community and medical interpreter; academic research assistant; teaching assistant; office manager; administrative assistant; and customer service and guest relations agent.
Nadine’s background in interpreting and cross-cultural communication has become the cornerstone of her teaching philosophy. Working with students from all walks of life—with respect, empathy, and appreciation—has deepened her instructional approach and sharpened her ability to connect with learners of diverse races, ethnicities, faiths, ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, and abilities.
Nadine takes great care in designing original lesson plans that integrate a variety of learning methods. Her lessons are culturally sensitive, age-appropriate, and innovative, ensuring they meet the needs of all learners. Nadine draws on multiple instructional approaches—including the art and musical approach, the Lexical approach, and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) to maximize both individual and group learning outcomes.
By combining traditional teaching strategies with modern technological tools, she creates an engaging and motivating learning environment. Her commitment to active listening, along with her practice of providing constructive and detailed feedback, helps students build confidence and find personal meaning in their learning journey.
